Аннотация. Рассматриваются взгляды И.А. Сикорского на основной вид деятельности детей – игру. Раскрываются роль и значение игры в умственном развитии ребенка. Пред ставлены психологическая сущность детских игр, их классификация с позиций Сикор ского И.А. Доказывается значение идей Сикорского И.А. для развития теории игры в современной детской психологии.

Annotation. The content of the article deals with I. A. Sikorskiy’s views on the main children’s activ ity – a game. It considers the role and the meaning of the game in the child’s mental devel opment. There is a classification of children’s games according to Sikorskiy’s attitude. There are also giving several proofs of Sikorskiy’s ideas about development of the game theory in a modern psychology of the children.
